China International Fashion Week AW2021
Designer Han Lei graduated from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. In 2015, he co-founded the clothing brand DAMOWANG with his university classmate Wang Xuanchang in Shenzhen. DAMOWANG is derived from the homophony of the designer’s nickname The Great Demon, and then plays the banner of the Fashion Great Demon.
Han Lei, founder and designer of DAMOWANG brand, the 26th China Top Ten Fashion Designers. Han Lei has always been adhering to the retro, trendy, and modern design concepts. By extracting fashion fragments, using classic elements and popular concepts, he combines the romantic feelings of retro with the needs of modern life, highlighting the individual aesthetics of the post-industrial era Viewpoints and cultural tastes.
DAMOWANG has always used “wuxia”, a very representative culture in modern China, as a carrier, but it does not overly differentiate between Eastern and Western elements, integrates current trends and changes, and shapes contemporary independent women’s modern style and introverted temperament.
The designer has not only used Chinese elements as superficial grafts, but also used de-symbolization to present the inner temperament. He believes that the mission of fashion itself is to have a strong relationship with our reality and living environment, and form a kind of Strong gravitation, and always in progress.
The product uses recyclable environmentally friendly polyester yarn and extracts yarn from waste plastic bottles and other raw materials. Compared with traditional polyester yarn, it saves 94% of water and 60% of electricity, and can reduce carbon emissions by 32%.
In addition to promoting sustainability, DAMOWANG has also continued to innovate in fabric and process design. For example, the AW21 design uses volcanic ash cashmere made of 37.5TM technology and cashmere to keep the body at the most comfortable 37.5°C.
The elastic thread embroidery is used to make the second transformation of the fabric. The clever color matching and process design give the fabric a second life. The three-dimensional and texture effect is obvious. The color embellishment plays a finishing touch and the rebound is super good.
