The CHENG CHENG 2021 autumn and winter series is inspired by a legendary men’s suit.

Quant is an old grandfather from London, England. He owns a haute couture antique suit from the 1960s. He is a “witness” of being brave to be himself and gaining love.

In this series, Cheng Cheng expressed the legendary story of Quant and this suit and his courage to be the truest self and live a wonderful attitude towards life.

Quant’s suit witnessed his love with Marian, and also witnessed his courage to be his own wonderful life. The silhouette of the series is derived from the combination of Carnaby Street’s new wave style in the 60s and the interesting structure formed by the Jiving dance when men and women dance together.

Cheng Cheng integrates the characteristics of Jiving dance, that the men and women will dance, invert and flip in the dance, into the structure of the clothing, and incorporate the structure of upside-down, upside-down and large folds in the design. The concept of fabrics and colors comes from men’s suits under the lights and music in the ballroom. When people dance on the dance floor, the color of the suit will produce colorful colors according to the light in the dance hall.

The lighting colors of the ballroom are mainly orange, purple, green and blue. In a dark environment, the color of the suit fabric itself is not so important, and the light spots on it shine on the body like diamonds.

The CHENG CHENG brand conveys that clothing is not only a three-dimensional visual, but also a four-dimensional auditory concept. Since the establishment of the brand, the brand has been adhering to the exploration and experimentation of how to “sound” clothing, and try to transform the auditory sound into the visual perception of sound. This is not just the real sound of clothing, but when people see it. I can feel the presence of sound when I am wearing clothes.

She made the shiny bells and sequins into “monster skin”, combined with hand embroidery, formed a unique “sound fabric” on the clothing, presenting an audio-visual feast with experimental and dramatic tension.
